After making periodic entries into this blog, a blog I began early in November of 2005, It is my belief that perhaps only four or so people had actually read any of it through its first six months.
One day I logged in to check around and there had been 15 views to my profile. Wow! Then, on another day something like 34 was the total. Wow! Time passes and 34 was the standard total views for quite a while. Then it ups to 40 something. Soon after that, it booms to about 67 and it stays there for a while. A couple of weeks ago it graduated to over 85. Today, views of my simplistic profile stand at an astounding 108 views! Yes siree...that's one-hundred and eight views after a little over a year!
I'm going to Sizzler baby!!!
In the past year or so, four different people have e-mailed me. What appear to be a couple of others have actually replied with a comment to a blog entry. One of them more than once. A few months back a spam bot sent some phony sounding replies that I evaluated as spam. So, I got rid of them. Last week, someone e-mailed me four links to e-greetings that I cannot open. Thanks by the way.
I don’t really know why I acted on this blog a year ago after having registered at Blogger back in 2002. I certainly don't think I do it for the attention. Only two people who know me personally know that I peck away here. Those two do not include Wifey. Perhaps one reason could be that I’m intrigued that just by launching a computer program and by connecting to the internet, I can somehow touch someone that I would have never ever had the chance to have ever crossed paths with. A way of barely affecting someone with an unknown name, of either sex, from a nondescript place who just so happens to stop and peruse this inconsequential assemblage of my personal grub tucked away in the din of the galaxy-sized internet.
This blog is not unlike a message in a bottle. In fact, it IS a 21st Century message in a bottle. This blog makes me feel as if I'm in a private little island. A unique place where the surf never stops. It is my island.
From time to time, I get around to writing something personal, revealing, perhaps even private. I place these intimacies inside a bottle and I throw it into the internet's vast ocean.
Once in a blue moon, the internet bobs a bottle back with a reply.

A very nice analogy. I came to your blog after you posted on my friends (Emma Barnett) and so thought it was a nice little cycle...here's to the unknown reason for blogging...
Welcome Dan W:
Thanks for perusing by. As I mentioned and as you can see, your contribution is a veritable message in a bottle.
A few months back I stumbled across your friend's blog:
A quasi-political blog from the perspective of a journalism student in England. It seemed intriguing for a link on my blog.
I asked if I could include a link to her blog and she said it was OK to do so. I happened to drop bye her's and contributed a little snippet recently.
